It's possible that your blood pressure may change after stopping hormonal birth control, including a slight increase in blood pressure. However, this could explain dips in blood pressure during periods of use. If you have uncontrolled high blood pressure (at or over 160/100), it's best to stick with nonhormonal options, but the hormonal IUD, implant, and progestin-only birth control pills may be used cautiously.
